MK5 GTI - Intercooler Hoses leaking again. Replacement suggestions please.
Last Poster: GreigC in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:10:34 pm
Today I had the car serviced and hand-break cables replaced. My mechanic said my intercooler pipes are leaking again (only the drivers side) I’ve changed all the O-Rings twice now on both cooler pipes over the last 18months. I bought all Genuine seals and replaced the correct part numbers to the correct sides as one side is bigger than the other… I want to change both intercooler p

Re: LPFP replacement - Results
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 05:37:54 pm
Update again. Replaced HPFP with a Hüco unit. It'#039s basically a Hitachi pump but with the Hitachi name grinded off and assembled in germany. After moving over the uprated internals, the pump seems to be more noisy than the old one under load. Cam follower was replaced with an INA part. Old one wasn'#039t really worn out but figured might as well do it.

Checked the front two wheels and they are '#0391K0601025AC'#039.

Reading a couple posts down '#039https://www.clubgti.com/forums/index.php?threads/unable-to-find-any-valves-to-fit-17-monzas.256039/'#039. I would need the part '#0391K0601361'#039 rather than the B at the end. Im not fully sure at the moment due

Hey guys, recently I did some work on my car to replace the flywheel. Upon starting and driving it for about 5 kms and returning home, I noticed a very loud ticking sound from the engine bay as I reversed into the driveway.

Upon further investigation, the noise seems to be coming from the ACF. I have owned this car for 2 years and had never heard this noise before, is th

Hey guys, greetings from New Zealand :)

I've just replaced my DMF and noticed a strange buzzing noise coming from the trans pump housing while test starting it on the lift. Does anyone know if this is normal? I've never noticed it before.

I did try to disconnect my battery for an hour but that didn't help.

Only asking as I don't have access to vag com or any other code reader, maybe if its happened to someone before?

Just an update had the standard downpipe fitted on for the mot and passed no issues. Now at 140k miles I’m debating whether to throw some money at it or sell up and possibly import a mk7 from Japan.
Keep us updated on your decision about a Mk7. It'#039s something I'#039ve thought about

Interested!
I'#039m planning to do a full suspension refresh as soon as the weather gets better. Not sure about parts as well. I will try to go OEM as possible but just like you said Meyle offers HD parts for which I'#039ve heard some good stuff.

Several years since the last post, I've just fixed this seat sliding problem on my Golf. Those plastic cable guides are quite a lot more expensive now but it's great to have people getting into the back seat easily again.

Many thanks for a brilliant write-up.

I think adjustable ball joints would be overkill for my 170bhp Diesel.

I'#039m mainly doing this to get unsprung weight back to what it was (following the addition of the Mk7 R Brakes) and my steel hub carriers are flakey and rusty. Trying to keep it a little bit VW OEM, but adjustable ball
